Case History
Alice is 11 years old. She was severely dyspraxic, dyslexic and suffered from a range of other learning difficulties. Her coordination was extremely poor. She had little control of her movements and no sense of orientation in space and time. Her academic skills were such that she had to attend a Special Education school. She even required an assistant to look after her at break times.
Following 5 months on the Raviv Programme, the Educational Psychologist did not recognise Alice as the child in his notes and agreed that she had outgrown the school and should move into mainstream education. Alice started at her new school in January and is over the moon. Of course, Alice has a lot of catching up to do, but the neural pathways that are essential to learning are being reinforced every day. Most importantly, Alice is a much happier and more confident child.
The moving story of Alice’s transformation was related by her mother at the Raviv Practitioner training course.
Alice’s mother is a language teacher who became a Raviv practitioner in order to help her daughter. Alice’s remarkable story has meant a change in career for her mum. She has been working as a Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in her local primary school and is using neuro-cognitive learning within this role.
